National Voter Registration Day is a nonpartisan civic holiday dedicated to celebrating our democracy. Since its kickoff in 2012, the holiday and its team of thousands of Partners<\/strong> have worked to get over 6 million Americans <\/strong>registered to vote in time for their next trip to the ballot box.<\/p>\n

Celebrated each September, National Voter Registration Day involves dedicated Partners of every stripe from all over the country hitting the streets for a single star-spangled awesome day of coordinated field, digital, and media action focused squarely on growing our shared democracy.<\/p>\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n<\/section>\n\n\n

What is a Partner? <\/h1>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n\r\n

Simply put, Partners<\/strong> are what make National Voter Registration Day’s annual nonpartisan celebration of democracy possible.<\/p>\n

-They’re the public libraries<\/strong>, neighborhood food pantries<\/strong>, and human service organizations<\/strong> that set up voter registration tables in their communities on the holiday.<\/p>\n

-They’re the college campuses<\/strong> that serve up free pizza, live music, and bouncy houses alongside stacks of voter registration forms.<\/p>\n

-They’re everyday individuals<\/strong> who canvass their neighborhoods door-to-door.<\/p>\n

-They’re local League of Women Voters<\/strong> chapters, fire departments<\/strong>, animal shelters<\/strong>, Chambers of Commerce<\/strong> and everyone in between who signs up to do the work of turning clipboards and conversations into registered voters every year on the third Tuesday of September.<\/p>\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n<\/section>\n\n\n

According to U.S. Census data from 2020, as many as 1 in 4 eligible Americans are not registered to vote. Every year, millions of Americans find themselves unable to vote because they miss a registration deadline, don\u2019t update their registration, or aren\u2019t sure how to register. National Voter Registration Day seeks to create broad awareness of voter registration opportunities during a single 24 hour democracy blitz to reach tens of thousands of voters who may not register otherwise.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n \r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n \r\n <\/div>\r\n
